I ran a virus check using an Ubuntu system on an USB stick.
After rebooting I get the message "no bootable device" and the SSD is not visible in the BIOS boot menu.
If however I boot from the USB stick I can mount the SSD and see my data. (I can also see and mount the recovery partition and see (but not mount) the MB partition).
I disabled secure boot but that did not help.
Booting from a windows 10 installation DVD the installation program does not see the SSD.

Any idea what the Ubuntu system might have changed that makes the SSD invisible for others?

    Hi Thomas657,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.

Intel vmd / RST may be the issue, it turned off by any chance?
