Swift 3 sf314-54 stuck after battery reset

Hi, i have a Swift 3 sf314-54 and it's 2 years and 5 months old.

It's a dual boot system ( windows 10 and Manjaro Linux )

In the last months I had some problems : sometimes the laptot wont turn on.

I fixed these annoying problems doing a battery reset.

Annoying but it always worked.

After the last battery reset the Swift 3 is stuck on the reset operation.

After pushing the battery reset button and waited, when I power on the laptop again :

- keyboard light turn on for few seconds

- keybord light turn on again and stay on

- after a while the fan starts to spin

- black screen

- nothing happens

I tried every key combination.

I am not able to get the bios screen with F2

No joy with F5 and F6

No joy with F12

Not able to boot via usb

I also did :

- Connected with an external monitor

- Connected with an external keyboard

- I extracted the ssd disk and retrieved the data : the disk is ok

- I disconnected and reconnected the main battery

- I disconnected and reconnected the volatile ram battery

- Booted without ssd disk

No changes.

Any help and suggestion is highly accepted.

Hi,
The reset button may have got stuck or broken, try again but slowly pushing it and release, then leave the laptop to rest for 15-20 Mins, reconnect AC adaptor and fully charge the battery before trying to start.

Reset this PC and keep my files

Thanks, no changes, the laptop does not enter in reset mode.

Can you feel and hear the click when you press the reset button? If not it may be stuck, as brummyfan2 suggested.

Yes, I can hear the click. Btw the Swift 3 is open so I can see the reset button.

A lot of Acer's laptops have switches that sense the case is open. Try assembling it first...

I give up.

In the best case it should be a corrupted BIOS. otherwise it is an hardware fault.

Annoying and costly.

I'm guessing that the battery reset wasn't actually a solution before, instead it hid a gradual failure by bypassing the diagnosis because it 'worked'. It sounds like you are getting at least a portion of the way through POST, that's why you can see various things happening in sequence. It might be that the display has failed, giving you a black screen. If you could connect an external monitor to the HDMI port you should be able to see something if it gets past post and into the Windows load (or Linux load if that's the default).

I connected an external monitor as first trial, but no joy.
Now the notebook is in a repair lab and I waiting for the diagnosis. It seems a corrupted BIOS. If the notebook will be fixed I'll sell.

# Try to get the BIOS page.

1. Turn OFF the unit.

2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
3. You will be in setup utility page.
4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
7. Your unit will restart by itself.
