I just got a brand new acer swift 5 (SF514-55TA) and while plugging it the first time i noticed that the left quadrant of the keyboard heated up almost instantly. I hoped it was an anomaly initially. But during subsequent charging phases the heating problem did not go away. During normal usage (browsing, videos on youtube, etc), it was not that noticeable, though the battery life is nowhere near the 17 hrs claimed but around 6-7 hrs. Is it normal experience from the laptop?

Tough to tell, pleasantly warm to one person is way too hot to another... There is some heat buildup in that quadrant from the power connector itself and the wiring between there and the motherboard, but it shouldn't be nearly enough to keep a cup of coffee warm. :)

    Hello @bhallaaaa

In case it is getting hot at the point it is uncomfortable to touch I would suggest you to contact the repair center to check up your unit.

    Best Regards,
