Hello team,

I just took an Acer monitor X193W from a friend of mine to connect to my laptop as a second screen. However, the monitor is not detected by my Acer Spin SP314 laptop. I am using the HDMI to VGA cable and I believe it was all working. When I try on another laptop, the same issue, the monitor does not seem to be recognizing that it has been plugged into a laptop. I am running 64 bit Win 10 home.

What can I do?  Helpppppppp!

    Hi Raghu_Raj,

    Monitor self test,

    1. Power OFF the unit.
    2. Unplug all the cables.
    3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
    4. Turn ON the unit and check.

It could be a bad cable. Is the monitor recognized at all by the OS? In Windows you use Windows-P to bring up the options for which monitors to display with, and choosing either Extend or Duplicate should give you something on it.
