Quick question on connecting a 2nd monitor without the use for docks
I use the Swift SF314-56G

1st monitor- successfully connected via HDMI
2nd monitor - I tried to connect via USB-C 3.1 port, but failed. I intend to try using a VGA to USB 3.0 adapter instead. Will this work?

Yes, your USB-C port doesn't support display over USB mode. Just get a normal USB-C dock that has video output and you should be fine. I'd probably stick with HDMI or go to DP instead of VGA, but it should work either way.
