    Hi @Unlikely_jeweller,
I do understand your concern and I'm sorry to hear about the issue. This issue can either hardware or software related problem so in order to determined that you need to go to the bios screen and check whether the issue persist there.(note: to go go bios screen ,kindly switch off the computer completely and then turn it on, while doing that keep on tapping 'f2'key simultaneously  ,this  will take you to the bios ).if the issue persist in bios screen then its hardware related problem and if it doesn't show the issue in bios then its software issue .
    > If the  the issue is software related then go to device manager and uninstall and reinstall the display drive
    >from the command I can see that you have purchased it recently ,so if its a hardware problem I would recommend you to contact the Acer Inwarranty support .

if this helps ,kindly like and comment.

I do have a similar issue and also read in some of the reviews about it. My laptop model is Acer Aspire A515-56.
Issue: This problem does not occur always. It has happened thrice since I have bought this piece. All the time one thing that was common was I was presenting via Google Meet using Google Chrome, possibly about 5 tabs open and 1 folder, 1 word file open. Just before the screen started acting weird, fan throttled to high speed. Soon screen become flashy and I had hard press power button to restart. After restart everything was fine as usual. All these times, laptop was plugged into AC power and battery was almost full.
Attempted solutions: Almost all simple solution I have tried that is available on the net under the title 'what to do for flickering screen'. Reinstalled most of the drivers from Device manager. There is no unnecessary app installed.

Then, sometime back I noticed that there is a BIOS update in Acer website under support.

I checked in the System Information that my Bios was updated 22.01.2021 (v1.08) and an Update is available with date 27.01.2021 (v1.08). Important thing to note here is it is written in the website "v1.08 -- 1. Fix LCD flicker issue. 2. Add support BT headset function".

Now, I have a question which is out of my knowledge. There are further updates for Bios (latest 1.11, image below).
    1. Can I update BIOS without to worry? Many say it is bit risky as it damage permanently.
    2. Should I be updating version 1.08 or 1.11 or gradual up gradation from 1.08 till 1.11?
in between: v 1.09, 1.10 is also there.

If any one has done and found it solving this issue kindly help.
    Thanks in advance.

I bought this laptop in the month of may this year and started facing the similar issue september 2021 onwards, this happens once every two or three days. I have already contacted customer care for the same two times but this is not resolved yet. In my case, this happens abruptly at anytime and I am left with no choice but to long press the start button then everything goes back to normal. Please suggest how to resolve it as this is getting really frustrating. Below is my bios version, please suggest if I need to go back to previous versions or if there is any version for the resolution of the same.
