The battery in our Spin 5 laptop stopped holding charge, so I bought a replacement. The exact OEM model was AP15O5L, but I couldn't find this in India, so ordered AP1503K which is listed a compatible model (on the website I ordered from as well as many others, see:
https://www.uniqinfotechindia.com/acer-aspire-ap1503k-laptop-battery.html). The battery did turn out to be compatible physically and the connector was identical too. However, the first thing I noticed was that while the laptop powered on from battery, windows was indicating that there was no battery. I connected the power adapter and the charging circuitry also didn't work. I put my old battery back and confirmed that it was still getting detected and getting charged. Ultimately the battery got fully discharged and it wouldn't power on at all because it wasn't charging. I got the store to send me a replacement, assuming that it was a faulty battery, but unfortunately, the new battery is in exactly the same state. Is there something that I could do to get it recognized? I looked around in the BIOS settings and found nothing related.
