Part of the monitor on my Extensa EX2519 flickered black

So, this happened recently. It was only a small portion towards the bottom left corner on the monitor. Flickered black for a bit and then back to normal.
Naturally, I'm wondering what could be behind this. When it happened I was browsing reddit, nothing special going on at all. No stress on the system.
As of right now, I'm unsure if it is a tech issue (wires maybe) or an error with Windows, my browser or maybe even reddit itself.

Any advice?

That is not going to be easy to diagnose unless it gets more prevalent. Wiring issues typically are traced to the hinge area, and moving the screen will change their behavior. Driver issues are more likely to be more global, so the whole screen has issues rather than a small portion. An app like the browser could easily only affect a smaller area of the screen, though I'd expect that area to be different at different times. The display itself could present with a small area of glitches so that's a possibility too.

Very tricky, yes. My drivers are all up to date, so I'm confident about it not being them at least. Owned the laptop for nearly 2 years and this has never happened before. The hinges are undamaged but they sometimes make a sound when I close the lid. No signs of them being damaged though. Could just be normal sounds from the plastic as the lid closes.

It wouldn't be the hinges themselves, but that cable that gets bent every time the hinge moves. Over time the bending and straightening of the cable can cause micro cracks to form in the wires, leading to eventual failure.
