I have a Verizon MIFI unit and it provides me with a wireless connection fo r the internet. My S5 keeps cutting out and causes me to refresh many times. I checked with Verizon and no problem. My other Acer Aspire 5741 as wll as my HP mini does not have the problem

    Hi,

To confirm is the model you have the S5-391?

Does your S5 have the Qualcomm/Atheros chipset?  I don't have the S5 but do have the M5-581T and have the same problems.  This just started happening recently too.  Of course it has started after the 30 day Best Buy return period.

This has only been confirmed on the 5Ghz channel of my router, not sure if it is affected when on the 2.4Ghz channel.

I have a similar issue, but only when using WPA2-AES security - if I use standard WPA everything is ok (although annoyingly at much lower speed)

Download the latest driver from Acer Support site.

    - Please make sure the version of the Wirelesss Lan Driver to be downloaded  is: 10.0.0.217

As this is a combo dirver it will also upgrade the bluetooth to 8.0.0.214. Hence the big filesize 220MB.

    - Go into control panel and remove the current wireless lan + bluetooth drivers.

    - Once removed you can go through and install the newest downloaded driver.

    - Restart S5 after installation.
