Reinstalling Windows on my Nitro 5 AN515-55

In order to fix several issues I have been having, of which the most pertinent is the fact I'm entirely unable to boot into Windows due to the fact that the system drive has been encrypted and the password lost, I am completely erasing the SSD installed on my Nitro 5 AN515-55 device and reinstalling Windows. There were no important files located on the drive and brute-forcing my own forgotten password would likely cause far more headache than simply starting over. I have several questions regarding this process:
  • Does this device come with an OEM license for Windows 10? If so, how can I find the key?
  • How do I go about erasing the contents of the drive while unable to boot into the already-installed Windows? Should I just do this using the Windows installation media? I can boot into a live Linux system if needed; however, I have been unable to do so as yet due to the fact that I am not given a prompt and the device does not seem to enter it when I press any of the keys I was told would do it (namely, F2, F12, and Delete).
  • Will I need to reinstall the pre-loaded Acer software and drivers, e.g. NitroSense? If so, where can I find the downloads?

    Windows license should be embedded in the motherboard, when you activate Windows it should get the "Digital License " automatically.

    When bootup , during the black screen, hold down the ALT key ( or if your keyboard has the Fn key, hold down ALT and Fn keys) and continue to hit the F10 key until you see the recovery menu.
    Trouble shoot->Reset This PC, choose whether you want to Keep Files or Remove Everything

    I believe the Acer Software will still be there.

    The answers to your questions are as follows;

    1. Your laptops OEM OS is registered with Microsoft and does not need a password, see this guide from Microsoft of what to do to "Activate Windows 10"
    2. See this basic WikiHow article "How to Access Your Computer if You Have Forgotten the Password" as this is a restricted subject on this forum rules in regards  to hacking passwords and/or BIOS issues due to the potential and/or BIOS bricking of your laptop.
    3. Yes, but its only certain Acer drivers if Win-10 has all of them. NitroSense is one of the software that you will have to install and get from Acer. Look at your "Device Manager" to see what other drivers (have an astrict next to them?) as those drivers will need to be installed individually and/or got from Acer. The best way is to get the latest GPU driver from NVIDIA for your Nitro 5 AN515-55 and install the Intel Driver & Support Assistant which will install all your Intel drivers and notify you of other drivers that need updating too.

    The content of the second answer is not helpful, though the rest of the info is. The issue I am encountering is that I cannot reach Windows on my computer -- period. The only screen i am met with is the Acer logo and a prompt in the upper left to enter the password to decrypt my SSD -- a password i have forgotten, and which is far too long to bother attempting to brute-force. If I remembered it, this would not be an issue in the first place. It cannot be changed without first decrypting, which, again, requires the password. I am going to attempt to format the drive using a live USB operating system. If this attempt works, I will update the original post.
