Switch Alpha 12 Touchscreen Replacement

Hi all,

The Switch Alpha 12 apparently comes in two hardware versions, creatively named version 1 and version 2.  Each have different mounting points for boards and such.  I have a broken touchscreen that needs to be replaced.  How can I figure out which hardware version I have, which I need to know in order to purchase the correct touchscreen assembly, without opening the case first?  Is it based on the manufacturing date of the unit?  I did not see anything on the identifier strip under the stand that says which HW version the unit is.

Thanks for your help!

You may be seeing a SA5-271/SA5-271P vs Switch 5. The Switch 5 had pretty much the same specs...

Original New lcd display assembly for ACER SA5 271 Switch Alpha 12 Touch display N16P3|Laptop LCD Screen| - AliExpress

This links to the Switch Alpha 12 SA5-271, N16P3.  It shows two versions of the LCD assembly.  I am hoping that there is a way to tell which is which without opening the case and disassembling the unit.  That way, I don't have to disassemble the unit until the new LCD arrives.

Could it be the difference between the i3 version and the i5 version of the Switch Alpha 12?

I don't see any functional difference between the two, but ask the vendor to see for sure. The difference looks like it's just where the metal frame around the display is mounted to the bezel...
