I constantly need access to drivers, etc. Most of the time the Ethernet drivers are not present after force feeding a difficlut "patient" its OS. Sometimes, "like now"----You lust can't get the unit on the net to use any of the Driver helper progs. that are available. Also, most of the time trhe units owner can't afford to put out too much cash to pay for repairs. Currently, most of the owners I help are College students, that have tried 3 or 4 other techs before they are steered to me by school personel. I have gotten supurb results on all of the other makes of PCs when I needed asst. , but this my first ACER unit. So far, not a lot of luck!! Can anyone tell me how to get support for older systems, without having to fork out a bunch of cash, as I rarely charge these kids to look at their stuff. Most of the time 3 or 4 other "techs" have tried fixes that have really causwed more damage than whatever crashed the sys. but thats what makes it fun. Currently a UPS failure, has resulted in eventual Bios reflash failure, an operating sys. I had to remove using diskpart.exe, and so much more, that **** squad wanted 550.00 to get it back on line. I'm doing it for "parts & materials" only. This is why the school refers to me. Any asst. would be greatly apprciated. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
