Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do' in left pane. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable' Scroll down and uncheck the box for fast startup if not already unchecked. Shut down Windows normally. Then remove charger. Insert paperclip into reset pinhole on the bottom for 30 seconds. Then plug charger back in. Turn machine on. Test restarting again. If still an issue, shut down again. Turn machine back on and immediately press F2 to enter BIOS menu. Press F9 to load BIOS defaults. Press F10 to save and exit. Test restarting again. Jack E/NJ

    Hi Neilskyie,

    # Power drain,

    1.Unplug the AC power adapter.
    2. Shutdown the unit.
    3. Search for a pinhole on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.
Check this T/S and post the result.

If there is no "A", then you have a normal non-backlit keyboard installed.

    Did it worked earlier.

If it did work earlier, you might have to go to bios - change the keyboard backlight settings

    Doing Bios defaults will help..

While turning on the computer, tap f2. It will go to bios. Press f9 once. It will show load bios defaults with a yes or no popup. Press enter. Popup screen will disappear. Press f10 once. It will show save changes popup with yes or no. Press enter. Computer will restart and it will load into windows.

Now check how it is working..

Kindly follow the details given below

Tap f2 while turning on the computer.  It will go to bios setup.  Go to Main tab - It will show you keyboard backlight timeout..  You can enable or disable it. Press f10 to save changes..
