Acer Nitro 5 - AN515-44-R99Q - Screen won't turn on after opening laptop out of Sleep mode

I've had a AN515-44-R99Q for about 9 months. I made a couple hardware modifications about 4 months ago: replaced the RAM with Crucial RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT2K16G4SFRA32A and added ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB 3D NAND NVMe Gen3x4 PCIe M.2 2280 Solid State Drive R/W 3500/3000MB/s SSD (ASX8200PNP-1TT-C). I don't recall making any significant software changes in the last six months.

In the past couple months, about 1-2 times a week, when I open the laptop to get out of Sleep mode, the keyboard backlight comes on but the screen will not. I think I've tried everything I could, closing and re-opening, letting it sit around closed for a few hours, almost any typical keyboard combination, zero success. It seems my only way out is to hold the power button until it powers off, and start it back up again. What can I look into to hopefully get rid of this issue?

Update windows to latest versions and update your Nvidia display driver. This might fix your problem.

    Hi surfscuba808,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.
    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.
