How to solve weird noise coming from GPU fan nitro 5

I have nitro 5 with gtx 1650 and last night I was playing Forza horizon and since it's has high CPU and GPU usage I set my fan to max the whole time I was playing.

Nitro 5 fan speed for GPU and CPU can be adjusted separately or both.


So since last night my GPU fan had been making strange noises I think it's dusk but don't know for sure but CPU fan is ok.

I know it's GPU fan cos the noise gets louder and I adjust GPU fan speed.

My PC is still under warranty so I can't open it up.

If u have an idea how to solve the problem feel free to help

Not sure if laptop GPUs get coil while (google it) but could be that.

If not and its the fan then you could try compressed air on the heat transfer and blades of fan just hold the blades still when you use the compressed air. You don't want the blades to over spin. best would be to rebuild clean it but would void warranty, also may involve repasting CPU to get to the fan out from under the heatsink. Could be the bearing so might need a new fan or just some lube/oil.

Just checked on Linus tech YT channel and it makes same noise on his GPU. It's coil whine as he put it.


I have been gaming a lot for like 7months without that coil whine noise, why now and what can I do to stop the problem?

yeah just be sure the sound is coil while, if not then its the bearing in the fan. coil while you cant do anything about really ( only RMA) but a bearing you just replace the fan. IDK if coil whine comes on after a period but a bearing will.

on my now sold nitro 5 it didnt have a whine but im first pc build does. 

can you describe the sound? maybe watch some more videos and triple check. again unfortunately you cant do anything about it
