I want to buy a GTX 1050 but i cannot tell if my PCI Express slot has any power draw limits since that GPU will only draw power from the slot itself. A few years ago i had a similar problem with an older Lenovo desktop model and i had to return the gpu.

Yes, PCIe has specs for power budget off the slot, and Acer tends to adhere to that. The PCIe 3.0 spec support a high power mode for x16 graphics cards, giving 66W of +12V and 8.8W of 3.3V for a total of 75W. As long as the GTX 1050 runs on that 75W you should be good to go. I'm running a 1070 in my GX-281 and that works, so I expect you won't have any issues with the 1050. Any cards that need more than 75W have a power connector on the card to pull in the extra 12V needed.
