Why isn't the Touchpad Enable/disable button on my acer aspire 5 A514 not working?

my touchpad itself works, but the button for disabling it which is the F7 button does not work. every time I press it, an on-screen promt says that the touchpad is disabled but the touchpad still works, this gets too annoying since the touchpad sometimes picksup unintended touches

How about disabling the touchpad  in the Device Manager.

    Hi SFjav123,

    # Try to update the battery driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option mice and other pointing device.
    4. Under that title update all the drivers listed.

    5. Like the same way update the keyboad drivers also.
