Ive just bought a new Acer aspire Ryzen 7 5000 series, with 8gb Ram. I purcahsed it with the intention of upgrading the RAM by adding 16GB. I understand that the notebook is upgradable to a maximum RAM of 24GB DDR4 as per the specs, but what I dont know is what RAM to look for. eg max Mhz. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what my max is? the model is quite new so it isnt showing on the crucial websites etc.

the quickest would be 3200mhz 22CL :) the lappy doesnt support faster and if it did it would downclock the same speed as the soldered ram anyways. As long as the ram supports that speed at "JEDEC" it will be fine. If the ram is marked as XMP it wont work :)

    You want to pick up a CL22 3200MHz  DDR4 stick :)

Some of these models dont have it onboard but have a single Ram stick in them thats already in use, and i couldnt find a review which showed the bottom removed on this model so i would recomend removing the bottom first to make sure that it is empty!

You can either go for a 8GB stick or a 16GB stick, if you go for a 16GB stick some of the ram will run in dual channel, some of it wont

The guy at the store said it has one slot empty which I can put either 8 or 16 ram in. Ive opened up the back of the laptop and taken a photo that ive attached here. The RAM slot is definitely empty.

So just confirming, i can put in the quickest (3200MHz) ram into that slot?

And here is where I have a question, mine is a R6HW R3 5300U with 4 GB soldered ram, I found crucial memories but there are single and dual rank, which one I should choose?
