XB273U GXbmiipruzx and artifacts

So this is a well known issue for the XB273U GXbmiipruzx. I actually had to return the first 3 monitors I had because it would happen anytime I had YouTube up. After returning 3 of the models, the 4th one did not have any of those issues until 5 months later. Today I updated the firmware for it but don't think it solved the issue. I'm still seeing artifacts after installing the new firmware and doing a hard reset. After an hour or so the artifacts were less visibly seen but still there. I know people have had this issue with the XB273U GXbmiipruzx but wondering if Acer fixed this issue in their updated firmware or if they will plan to. Am I going to have to send this monitor in for warranty?

my monitor has done this since I got it. If leave the screen on a black background for too long it burns it into the screen.... slowly goes away after gaming but it's super annoying for how expensive this monitor is.

i dont get why they haven't addressed this. this is such a widely known issue and they haven't recalled their product. I just sent mine in to get it fixed. i doubt they will be able to and just want a refund at this point

There is a firmware update. Not sure if it fixed any of the problems you are describing. The problem is that it didn't fix the main issue with this monitor, and that's the extreme overshoot that occurs with adaptive sync enabled. This overshoot happens because the overdrive is tuned for the max refresh rate, and the overdrive setting is locked when adaptive sync is enabled.
