I tried to play a game today using my XBox controller, which I have been using for months, and my controller would not connect through Bluetooth.  When I went to reinitiate the Bluetooth connection to my controller under settings, it says my Bluetooth is turned off.  For some reason Bluetooth does not appear either in my Action Centre, nor does it appear in the device list in Device Manager.  This is very frustrating, as it has been working fine for years now.

Thank you kindly StevenGen, for the timely response.  I had actually done all those suggestions.  I even uninstalled my drivers and installed the appropriate ones. It was necessary for me to uninstall them as my system had all the current updated drivers.  Eventually I accessed Command Prompt with admin rights and ran System File Checker (sfc/scannow).  It appears I had 17 corrupted files, and the System File Checker cleaned them up.  After a restart, everything returned to normal, BT was even restored to my Action Centre & Device Manager.  Once again, thanks.

Your PH317-51-787B has either an Intel 7265.NGWG.W Wifi /BT Combo Module Interface or a Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174A Wifi/BT Combo Module Interface WiFi/BT card. You can get the latest WiFi/BT drivers (these are more current than what is on the Acer site) for the Qualcomm Atheros < from this link and the latest Intel 7265.NGWG.W < drivers from this link.

But first, try this to reactivate the BT, press F3 key and/or F3 plus Fn keys together, as that should activate your BT, if it doesn't then reboot and do the same, if that doesn't work then uninstall the drivers completely and reinstall the WiFi/BT drivers again from scratch and get the latest drivers from the links I've provided above. Otherwise and if this does not work then there is something wrong with your card, which is very unlikely as these cards are very reliable and very rarely go wrong. Also check the "Bluetooth & other devices" section in windows "Settings" and see if your BT is connected and paired.
