Aspire can no longer connect to the internet

I searched the posts and found similar questions but probably different set ups. My Acer Aspire has always had some quirky issues with internet connection but just recently it stopped being able to connect completely. I can still download torrents so there is a connection of some sort working but I can't actually use the internet.

I have other devices that connect to my wireless network with no problems. I am on Windows 7.

Can anyone help? This is becoming extremely frustrating!!!!!

I'm sure you will want more info so let me know what... and I'm not very technical so instructions on how to provide what you need would be helpful.

Thanks!

It is helpful to let the community know the following:

    What computer do you have?
What operating system is on the computer?

Do you have any error messages?

    What application are you using?

If you're still pulling torrents, you're connected.   There's another issue.

I put the operating system in the other post and the model. It's an Acer aspire on windows 7. Is there something else you need? Not sure of a model number but it is two to three years old. Only error message is that it cannot connect to the internet.. cannot display webpage. I'm using Internet Explorer. 9. 0 I think.

I'm sorry, but Acer Aspire covers a vast number of products, notebook and desktop.  A serial number or part number would help.

The system is obviously connected if torrents are running.

I would suggest stopping whatever ***** client you have running as it may be destroying any other throughput you might have.

How are you getting ***** files to add torrents if you're not connected?

Have you considered attempting to use another browser to double check that it is not an IE issue?
