ConceptD Ezel 7 overheats/auto shutdown w/ real-time 3D rendering
I've had two freezes then the laptop shuts off automatically when under heavy real-time 3D rendering (architecture software & rendering - Revit and Enscape3D). It doesn't take very long - maybe 30 minutes. I'm using an external monitor and the laptop is in clamshell mode. I know it's getting really hot, but shouldn't the fans be able to keep it cool even if they have to run really high? Combined with this, shouldn't the gpu throttle down so the fans can keep up? Should I put it up on a stand? I can't imagine 3D real-time rendering is any more taxing than high-resolution gaming... I'm up to date with all the Windows and nVidia driver updates. Is there somewhere I can check the logs for what caused the auto shutdown? Thanks for any tips.
