My laptop Acer Swift SF314-52 shows incorrect battery percentages and shuts the computer down.

So the laptop sometimes shows charges correctly displaying the correct battery percentage when charging and then discharges normally. Other times it shows the battery percentage at 0% when disconnected from a charger but still operates for 5-6 hours on apparently 0% battery. It also sometimes shows full battery percentage but then suddenly says that the battery is low, then proceeds to shut down, and won't boot up again until I plug it in.

Have tried hard resetting the battery through the pin at the bottom with no luck. Also tried letting it charge fully and then discharge fully. Nothing has seemed to work so far. Any advice on how to resolve this would be great.

This is often caused by Windows having bad calibration data, though sometimes it's the battery itself with bad data.
On your SF314-52 there is a pinhole on the bottom of the laptop for battery reset. Start there and shut down and disconnect power and any other stuff you might have plugged in. Use something like a bent paperclip to press and hold the reset button for 15-30 seconds. Release the button and wait 15-30 minutes, then plug the power back in. Wait for the battery indicator to show a full charge, then turn the laptop back on. That will allow the battery to start out again with fresh numbers.
The next step is to calibrate Windows. Run on battery until the system shuts down due to low battery, this is typically done somewhere around 7-10% charge remaining, but can be much different if Windows is confused. With the system still off plug in the power and wait for the full charge indicator. When it's fully charged turn it back on. Each time you cycle through that the system will get a little better at estimating the battery life.
