Can someone please help me to understand why my R5-571tg-78g8 which the manual nor any reps will tell you that it has a capable m.2 nvme ssd bootable slot on the mobo, is running only at x1 lane speed however? I've read somewhere it's because you have to switch in your BIOS from sata to nvme however my laptop is so old there isn't an option for that and I don't look for any future BIOS updates to come out at all much less to include this. Is there anything else I can do? It is still benchmarking at almost 900Mb/s however it's potential is 3100 up to x4 lanes. If I could even get just x2 lanes in that old laptop I'd be happier than now. This has been reported using WD SSD software as well as crystal disk info software.

Thanks in advance.

Specs on the Aspire R5-571TG says the SSD support is SATA, so if you get an NVMe to work at all it's going to be at SATA speeds.
