SSD not detected after replacing Swift SF314-54,

It's a Swift SF314-54, the original SSD (128gb) died and I couldn't even get the Bios up until I removed it. Have replaced with  120gb kinston A400 M.2 but is not detected by the Bios at all. Should this SSD work or has the dead SSD taken the controller out as well do you think? how can I check if this SSD is supported? thanks.

That looks like the SSD is not working at all then. Either it's bad, not compatible, of the M.2 port on the MB has failed. :( The Kingston A400 models are M.2 SATA, so they should work. Your SF314-54 supports both SATA and NVMe (x2 and x4) so there should be an issue there. I'd work under the assumption there's something wrong with the drive and send it back for a refund, then purchase an NVMe in your price range and start over. The NVMe will be anywhere from twice as fast to four times as fast as the SATA.

No, the HDD slot is shown as empty.

On the SF314-54 models there is support for two 2.5" drives plus the one M.2 slot. The drives displayed on the BIOS screen are the two 2.5", not the M.2. When you boot with a Windows install flash drive and start the install, is the SSD shown at the page where it asks where to install Windows?

Hi, I got hold of a NVMe 128gb to try and that worked so it must have been a compatibility issue with the A400, relieved the port seems to have survived after all 🙂 thanks for suggestions!
