Same problem on an acer aspire e 15.
Can't find the stick in BIOS mode, no matter which setting combination I try. I know that my problem is purely linked to booting.
Even more frustrating, the USB appeared *sometimes* as part of the bootable devices while in BIOS mode. But not always, and currently I've tried about 20 times, and am giving up. A new device by the way.
I would like to install either Linux or Windows. No need for dual boot.

    Actionable :
UEFI bios needs a separate bootloader partition, correct?

In the BIOS Main tab, make sure to save and set the F12 boot option to enabled. Shut down the machine. Then insert the installation stick prepared from an iso to boot from a UEFI bootstrapper. Turn the machine on and immediately start tapping the F12 key. A menu should appear to allow you to boot from the installation stick. Jack E/NJ
