My Aspire E15 does not boot after chaning HD to SSD

I used Acronis true image to clone my disk. From the oríginal WD 500GB HD to a Kingston 480GB SSD.

I only used less then 200GB of space, so true image can deal with that resizing no problem.

I've done this several times before, including resizin during cloning process. So far always worked on all other computers.

But my Aspire will not boot up into Win10 on the SSD.

When I start the maching it first says "Automatic reparation", then it says "please wait while installing system updates", but nothing happens.

If I connect the old HD through USB port and boot, it also first says "automatic reparation" and then "please wait…". But the standard windows rolling circles apears, and after a While I come into the windows reparaton tools.

I can't update the BIOS because all downloads for updating BIOS are Windows tools.

My BIOS is version 1.10, and the latest seems to be 1.15

Does anyone know why my Aspire does not want to boot into the SSD?

And why is my computer booting into windows repair if I boot on the HD?

 Best regards

Booting a 2.5" HDD or SSD thru a USB adapter usually won't work. Please disconnect it.

Then try this. Set and save a BIOS supervisor password. Then re-enter the BIOS menu with the supervisor password and disable secure boot. Then try to boot from the  2.5" SSD again.

    Hi Jack

    Thnx for reply.

Can you please explain? I havent really run into many issues booting on 2.5" from USB.

Main issue is that I cannot boot on my SSD. The SSD is a direct clone of the HDD.
The SDD is connected to the motherboard.

Have you tried to set and save a BIOS supervisor password yet? Can you even boot from the old HDD (internally mounted) anymore? Jack E/NJ

    Hi McDuck,

    # Power drain,

    1)Unplug the AC power adapter.
2)Press and hold the Power button down until the unit goes off.
3)Search for a pinhole on the backside of your laptop, insert a small paperclip in the battery reset pinhole, press and hold it down for 25 seconds. Then release the paperclip and try to turn on the unit and check.
