I just got a new Acer Swift 3. Since I'm more familiar with Linux distribution and have no purpose of using Window OS.
I try to Boot new Ubuntu from external CD Room (Always used it for other models such as Nitro 5, or Dell Inspiron Series for Linux setup)

For time model, it seem no such a Lagacy coming long, only UEFI. Now no matter, I change in Bios setting.
I only see "UEFI Shell", No other boot loaders listed.

Any idea, how to achieve making ubuntu to single work on Swift 3 (SSD drive)

  • What is the exact model? Example SF315-52-58VH. Try going to the MAIN tab, pressing CTRL + S and changing the sata mode to ahci.

You have to either disable Secure Boot in the BIOS or add the efi file for the Linux distribution as trusted. Then you can boot into the Linux live environment, delete all Windows partitions on the drive and do the Linux install. The install should recreate the EFI partition with appropriate settings for your OS.

    The model is SF314-59-33LW, egydiocoelho
Finally, I managed to make it work by using USB bootable instead of the DVD one.
I'm not sure yet, what is the mistake there. But I guess maybe it could relevant to Boot init file as
    billsey stated above or something.
The DVD is worked well with other devices just not this Model (
    SF314-59-33LW)
