Anyone had issues with a Swift 1 touchpad since the latest Windows update? Mine is no longer working. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but still nothing. Tried uninstalling latest Windows update, but can't seem to do that. Anyone had same issue and managed to resolve it?

    It's an SF114-32.
Already tried the F7/Fn+F7 - no luck. Also removed and reinstalled from device manager but no change.

Fire up Device Manager and look under Human Interface Devices. Do you have the "HID-compliant touch pad" listed? Does it show any errors or warnings?

Hi Billsey. It is listed. No warnings or errors. Says drivers are up to date and all working but it doesn't work.

OK, are there anything other devices that show an error or warning in Device Manager? Sometimes the underlying USB ports can be dropped after a Windows update.

No warnings anywhere that I can see. Everything else seems to be working fine.

I would suggest you to perform a system restore in the unit, This sometimes may not work but worth a try

That was going to be my next stop if no one else had any ideas. Thanks for your help.
  • Have you checked if the touchpad is activated here?

    Hi ChelleCT,

    # Try to update the touchpad driver

    1. Hold windows key and hit letter X.
    2. Choose the device manager option.
    3. Go with the option touchpad.
    4. Under the title touchpad.
    5. Right click on that option ----> Update driver.
    6. Choose "search automatically".

Check this T/S and post the result.

Hi. It says 'the best drivers for your device are already installed'

Starting to wonder if device is faulty - it's only 3 months old.

    Hi @ChelleCT

I would suggest a system restore to identify if its something related to software or hardware issue.

Actually, just testing the touchpad in the BIOS screen would tell if it's hardware or software...

@billsey in what way? Only able to navigate BIOS with keyboard. Touchpad is listed in BIOS as 'Advanced'

In the BIOS if you plug a mouse in can you use that to navigate? If so then you should be able to also navigate in the BIOS using the touchpad. If it's not working there you are looking at a hardware problem rather than software, because Windows software drivers aren't even loaded until Windows loads. If a mouse doesn't work in the BIOS then the BIOS test won't help. Best bet at that point is to try safe mode in Windows to start without drivers and see if it works there.
