Using HDMI on External TV Causes Frame Drops - Nitro 5 AN515-55
I have an issue where, if I'm playing a game on my TV using HDMI, the video is really slow/choppy. Looks like the frames are dropping or something. Weird thing is it only happens if my laptop lid is shut or I select "Show Only" on the 2nd screen in Windows display settings. There is no lag or frame drops if the laptop screen itself is on as well - only when I try to make HDMI the only output do I get issues. This is annoying because I'd like to switch off the laptop screen while gaming on my big TV to save power and wear and tear on my laptop. The game I'm testing is Hades in case it helps and I'm sure it's not majorly intensive on graphics. I've tried a combination of V-sync and resolution changes on 2 different TV's and the results are exactly the same so it appears to be something to do with the laptop display settings. Any idea what's going on? Thanks
