Hi

I have an E1-571 here it was my later father's laptop.

As I'm keeping it as a little thing to work on now and again and to bring back memories I've started upgrading it just to bring it a bit more up to date.

I've replaced the DVD with an HDD, upgraded to a 480GB SSD, put in a 7260HMW AC wifi card and 16Gb DDR3 1600.

The final upgrade I'd t like to do is changing the screen to a 1920x1080p panel to get a bit more enjoyment out of it as the screen it has is really lacking and puts a downer on it!.

It has an LG LP156WH4-TLA1 panel, as HWINFO64 tells me, I've searched but I cannot find much for a 1920x1080p panel.

If anyone could point me in the right direct or offer some assistance would be brilliant.

Model specs: E1-571-73638G50Mnks

i7 3632qm
16gb DDR3 1600
480GB SSD
1TB 2.5" HDD
7260HMW AC

Motherboard states: Acer EA50_HC_CR - Intel HM77
V2.21 Bios

Also, does anyone know if the board will accept a 3720 or 3820qm?

Thank you

That model should have 40 pin mainboard connector that only supports 768p. You can however run external HDMI monitors at 1080p and VGA even higher. The cpu sockets are all g2 so they should work. But there is very little perfomance advantage, less than 20%
