Adding extra RAM stick on AN515-44 Ryzen 5 4600H

Hello,

Have anyone with the exact same model or a Nitro with Ryzen CPU tried to add a new RAM stick so it can work on dual-channel?
I bought an 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz CL22 from Crucial but when I installed it on my laptop it runs at 2666Mhz CL19 max.

So after doing some troubleshooting, I can say that the slots are working fine and tested each RAM one at a time using MemTest86 without any error during the process, but when I tried running MemTest86 with both RAM stick running on dual-channel I kept getting errors right away.

When both RAM sticks are in I can boot into Windows without problem, but once I get into compiling code, rendering, and even playing games I get random restarts and even BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.

Probably the problem: I realized that the RAM I bought (even though they are both rated @ 3200Mhz CL22 1.2V) has a different part number which probably means they don't share the same exact ship so maybe that's why I'm having incompatibility issues.

I'm attaching my HWiNFO readings if that helps: (slot #0 is the one I bought and slot #1 is the one that came with the laptop)

Hi,
Give this a try, go to BIOS screen, move to Main tab and press F9 button, press F10 to Save& exit.

I'm aware of that scenario where the lower frequency between both is the one that takes place but this is not the case because I made sure to purchase the same frequency and if you check the readings from HWiNFO (images attached above) it shows is running at 3200Mhz.

Could you please download and install CPU-z, run it and post the pictures of Memory tab and SPD tab for both modules.

Hi,
Where do you see them running at 2666MHz? From the readings of CPU-z, your modules are running at 3200MHz(2x1596MHz) but I can see that you have modules with different CL value, so they work at slower latency(CL=24).

I don't quite understand.
Yes, both are running at 3200Mhz but as you said one of them is running at a different CL value. (Probably) Due to the different CL values, I'm getting random restart and BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error as described above.

But if you look at the readings from slot #1 (the one I bought), shouldn't the details on the timings table match the details from slot #2 since both are rated with the same specs 3200Mhz CL22 1.2V?

This could be solved by using XMP but this laptop doesn't have this option in the BIOS.
