How do I add USB drive to boot order in SP314-54

I just got a SPIN 3, SP314-54N, bios ver. 1.11.
When I boot into bios, under boot, it only shows "SECURE BOOT - ENABLED" and "1. WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER"
I went and set a PW and then changed SECURE BOOT to disable and changed fast boot to disable and then went and changed PW back to clear.
Then I saved and restarted. Went back into bios but no "BOOT MODE" option under BOOT like I see in videos where the "BOOT MODE" option is listed then "SECURE BOOT" then "1. WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER".
In past bios (5 years ago), the boot orders were listed and all I need to do was move the device up and down.
The reason I "ASSUME" I need to get the BOOT MODE option is so I can change it to legacy from UEFI. Then from there, the old boot options would show up like CVD, USB Drive, etc. and then I can change the boot order. But nowhere can I find how to access boot devices or options. (IF MY ASSUMPTION IS WRONG, PLEASE CORRECT ME).
When I go into Boot Menu (f12), it only shows "Window Boot Manager" even if I have a USB pendrive inserted or not. I tried having the USB pendrive inserted when I boot into bios but it also does not show the USB pendrive in boot option.
Bottom line....How do I get to change boot order and have USB pendrive as a bootable device.
I am looking to be able to boot into a recovery USB pendrive so I can use a image recovery program if I need to fix the laptop.

Did you try to set up that Recovery image for UEFI bios?

I need to be able to boot in with USB drive but can not add USB drive into boot manager.
All other bios I have worked with lists different available bootable devices but this bios does not list anything but WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER. I trying to found out how to add other devices to the Boot order. Can you help?

is the ultimate question: "how do i enable legacy support?" and if so, reckon you'll be out of luck as infosys do not have legacy support as far as i'm aware, only uefi.

That is the normal condition. Windows Boot Manager will give you a list of all UEFI bootable devices if you launch the boot menu. Make sure the BIOS has the F12 menu enabled to get the list, then hit F12 at boot . You should bee the main drive and the UEFI bootable USB drive as options.

Can you help with some questions and assumptions I have.

I stuck in my old boot up/recovery USB pendrives but none showed up in the boot option menu only WINDOWS BOOT MANAGER was listed. So I went to look for Boot order but could find any options for it.
I want to create an image of my SSD. I am using Macrium Reflect 7 free. Playing around with the laptop and with Macrium, I used Macrium to create a WinRE Rescue Media onto a USB drive. This USB drive now is listed in the Boot option Menu and I can loads up Macrium Rescue Media. Now I am happy. I assume all of my older boot up/recovery USB drives were not UEFI bootable USB drive and the new WinRE USB drive I created was an UEFI bootable drive and that is why it showed up in the Boot Option Menu. Then I created a rescue media using WinPE 10 to see it that would work also but it did not show up in the Boot Option Menu. WinPE 10 said it support UEFI and secure boot.
So my new questions are
1) Acer Spin 3 bio does not have an option to use legacy bios but only UEFI?
2) So are only UEFI USB drives recognized during Boot up for the ACER SPIN 3?
3) why wasn't WINPE 10 listed in Boot Option Menus?

Thanks again for any help or knowledge you can give me. I'm not familiar with the newer UEFI bios and this Acer Spin 3 UEFI bios.

F9 upon boot will pull up the boot menu, assuming you haven't turned it off in the BIOS settings. From here, you will be able to select the USB drive ASSUMING it is fully functional AND bootable, e.g. it has a live operating system installed on it.

Most newer systems no longer have support for Legacy boot, since it isn't useful for anything past the late Windows 7 era. UEFI requires a GPT disk and the UEFI boot files. On a HDD or SSD system drive there is a EFI partition hidden that's formatted FAT32 and has the UEFI files. On a bootable flash drive the file are in the boot folder on the root of the drive. If your flash drives are old enough to be MBR instead of GPT they won't work. Macrium Reflect should have created a boot image using the Windows PE environment that has all the needed EFI files... Maybe there's a step that was missed? Contact them to see what they say.

I don't know if this is relevant but I'll mention it. I recently created a Windows20H2 install disk on a USB flash drive. However like your WinPE 10 USB drive, it didn't show up in the boot option menu - only Windows Boot Manager was listed.

I booted into the BIOS settings (F2) then went to the Security page and entered an administrative password. Under Secure Boot Mode (which was enabled) was "Select an UEFI file as trusted for executing". I selected that then the USB disk (1), found bootmgr.efi in the root of the USB drive and selected that and added it to the database. The USB drive now appeared in the boot options list. I saved the changes and exited.

When I pressed F12 during the start-up POST, I had a choice of both Windows Boot Manger and the USB drive. On selecting the USB drive, it booted into the Windows installation program.

So maybe give that a try if there is a .efi file on your WinPE 10 drive that can be added to the UEFI trusted files.
