help! Current/EDP throttling in nitro 5 an515-54-728

hi, I have installed Intel XTU on my nitro 5 an515-54-728 and:

as you can see the CPU Utilization is only 5 percent and Current/EDP throttling happens beside power limit throttling (package TDP is on 18!)!
although the power limit throttling does not happen much, just for a second and then gone, the Current/EDP throttling is always happening!

has anyone experienced such a thing? I would be delighted if someone else shares an screenshot from the intel XTU app on their nitro 5 an515-54-728

and also the power limit throttling is happening while gaming

NOTE: I had predator sense installed before, but this screenshot is after I uninstalled predator sense and reinstalled nitro sense

Yes, I'm having this issue as well. It seems to be related to charging. When I'm playing games, I notice that as soon as the yellow light on the side comes on to inform me the laptop is charging instead of fully charged, the cpu clocks begin to throttle from 3988mhz down to 1990mhz. Then it just yoyo's up and down. I'm having mine sent out to be looked at, if they cannot fix the issue I will be moving on to another laptop unfortunately. I'm positive it's a setting added somewhere by acer to prevent the battery from discharging while plugged in, but the setting is no where to be found in windows or bios. I personally have not found an answer to this yet through my own attempts nor online. I upgraded to a 230W charger to see if that would fix it, it helps a bit, but not a 100% solution to the issue. I also used throttle stop to under volt the cpu which has also helped a bit but not solved the problem.

It's definitely some inaccessible setting acer put in to prevent battery discharge while plugged in. Nothing else would explain it. It's not a heat issue because 1. temps are usually very stable and not too hot while it's performing at max mhz, and the clocking is extremely consistent with whether or not the battery is 100% charged. You'll also notice that unplugged, even if set to max performance on battery, the cpu clocks are constantly throttled. Acer clearly was not confident in the battery the put in this laptop, which is fine, but give us the option to turn that setting off at our own risk. Hopefully they release an update for the bios that gives us access to this power setting but I guess we'll see. Or I may not, because like I said, if they cannot fix the issue, I will be returning the laptop to get something else.

I will let you know if I find a solution, or if acer can fix the issue. I'm assuming they won't be able to just by speaking to them, the guy on the phone thinks it's because of corrupted files on my laptop which would not be the issue.

hi, My laptop has this issue (an515-54-728) but it does not throttle to 2000Mhz,sometimes the battery is charging while playing, but it's all fine
