Top of screen not very responsive to touch on Spin 713

The top of my screen on my Spin 713 is not very responsive to touch. I experience this with multiple tabs open in Chrome browser. If I hit the "x" to close the tab, the "x" will temporarily get a grey circle around it but often will not close.  So, my touch is recognized but the Spin 713 takes no action on it. Sometimes I have to touch the "x" 10 times or more before it closes. Sometimes it closes on the first touch. This never is a problem while using the keyboard, just when touching. Every other part of the screen works perfectly.

If your touchscreen isn't working, try these steps. Test after each step to see whether your touchscreen works.

    1. Wipe off any dust or dirt on your touchscreen. Check if the case is loose. Since it's only the corner there is a chance for that.
    2. Reset your Chromebook hardware .  Press and hold the refresh key and the power button when the unit is on. It will turn off the device. Turn on the laptop normally and check.
    3. Reset your Chromebook to factory settings. Hold the escape, refresh and power button 》》》press ctrl and D. Now follow the on screen instructions and do a power wash and check.  This will delete all the info on local data.

What position is the Spin in when you see this? Remember that when in laptop mode a touch at the top has enough extra leverage that it tends to move the screen a bit rather than give the pressure against the screen you would see at the bottom. Just be aware of that and press just a bit harder up there, or flip it all the way around to tablet mode.

Thank you christy1 and billsey. billsey, it happens in both positions. Good point though about the screen in laptop position. christy1, Last night I ended up doing a factory reset and it's too early to tell but the problem is "better".  I don't understand why it's not either fixed or the same. But like I said, it's too early to tell. But please note, it's not that the screen doesn't respond. When trying to close tabs in Chrome, the "x" does show that I touched it by the circle around it temporarily turning darker. But that's all it does. I also do want to mention that many times though, it does not respond at all. I'll post again when I get a better feel for how much better it acts after the reset last night.

strange. if the above steps is done then most of the issues should have been fixed. try to clean the browser data, cache and cookies as well and check.

I was wondering, too, if it might be a cache issue. But the factory reset would have reset the data, cache and cookies.  It's definitely better. Before the factory reset, it drove me absolutely nuts. I should have done the reset sooner. I know it's not a big deal but I'm always resistant to doing it. it literally took 10 minutes and I was back to normal.
