ACER XR341CK won't power up

Hello-

I have an ACER XR341CK that won't power up.  I don't even get a splash screen or anything when I turn it on, which I believe I should get whether it is connected to a computer or not, correct?

I checked the power supply with a volt meter and it is putting out 12 volts, so I'm pretty sure it is not the power supply.

I called ACER and it's $599 to get it fixed as it is out of warranty, so that makes no sense.

Any ideas as to how I should troubleshoot this?  Thanks

Weirdest thing.  As I mentioned, the original power supply was putting out 12V when I put a multimeter on it.  I looked up the specs on the monitor's original power supply and found that AC powered LED lights use the same exact output (12V @ 5 amps) with the same tip so I plugged in a LED power supply from some LED lights I had hanging around and the monitor started working.  So for the heck of it, I plugged in the original power supply for the monitor and now it works.  I have no idea why, but it saved me a few hundred bucks!

Unplug all the cables going to the back of the monitor including the power cable, than press and hold the power button on the monitor for 30 seconds and than connect the cables back and check

    Jack22-

    Thanks for your response.

We did as you suggested, and nothing changed.  The monitor still will not power up.

Any other suggestions appreciated as we don't want to have to throw this expensive monitor away after only 4 years!

if you still have the issue after the above steps. then check with other power code. if still then check with acer support.

Thanks Christy1.  I called Acer Support but they told me that because it is out of warranty, it would cost $599 for repair, which is more than the monitor is worth.  I don't think I have any Acer Support paths beyond that, unless you know of a path I didn't follow?
