I've been looking around a bit, but i don't really know what to make of things. I would like to upgrade my motherboard so i can use DDR4 Ram.
The availability of DDR3 RAM is ridiculously scarce.. and i suppose DDR4 Ram might actually increase performance, rather than switching to other slightly better DDR3 rams 2x8. Im currently mix-matching 2x4 and 1x4 of different brands...

I couldn't find the exact specifications for the MBD, but here is the manual for the G3 series and it's _almost_ the same.

My computer (Acer Predator G3-605) has:
  • Intel Core i5-4460
  • Nvidia GTX 970 (pending an RTX 3060)
  • Samsung 860 QVO 1TB SSD (external, connected directly to MBD)
  • Seagate Barracuda 2 TB HDD
  • 2x4 Corsair + 1x4 Samsung RAM (pending switch to 2x8)
  • Acer Predator G3-605 motherboard (according to UserBenchmark.com)
  • PSU 500 W

I would be happy for any help i could get, my idea is to install a more recent MBD, getting DDR4 RAM 2x8, whilst keeping the current CPU and switching it for a better one later.

Thank you
