Acer Swift 3 SF314-52 WI-FI intermittent problems - New Intel drivers found.

After suffering for a long time with intermittent WI-FI dropping out I was all set to replace the WI-FI card, Intel wireless 7265. I had checked my driver was up to date MANY times, using device manager, and tried all the many fixes on line. In desperation I went on Intel’s download centre and searched for “Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265”. Amazingly there was an update! Also a very useful little program, DSA, driver and support assistant, that checks your computer for Intel hardware and checks for updates. Downloaded the assistant, ran it and it asked if I wanted to download the latest WI-FI and Bluetooth drivers. After doing this the WI-FI has been operating without drop-outs and sees all 5G connections, which it wasn’t doing before.

Why the driver update, using device manager,. wasn’t working I don’t know, very annoying when it wrongly says you have the latest version. No WI-FI drivers on Acer download centre. Latest Intel drivers 19.51.31.1 Date 15/09/2020

    Acer Swift SF314-57, Windows 10 build 19042, Intel-Wi-Fi-6-AX201

Hi all, like most others I have been suffering from increasingly annoying intermittent wi-fi disconnects on my 2 months old laptop. I've searched high & low and seen many suggested solutions - many outdated or improbable.

As suggested by Drahid, I downloaded & ran the "Intel Driver & Support Assistant". It found 1 unrelated update but nothing for the Wi-Fi adapter. However I then did a google search for "Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 driver" & it returned a hit on the
downloadcenter.intel.com/product/59485/Wireless site. Lo & behold there was an updated driver package for various adapter models including the AX201 dated 2/23/2021. I downloaded & ran the driver package & it updated my Wi-Fi driver from:
    Previous version: Netwtw08.sys ver 21.80.2.1 dated 5.03.2020
    Updated version: Netwtw10.sys ver 22.30.0.11 dated 25.01.2021

I haven't had a disconnect for several hours so I think this may have solved my problem - fingers crossed.

So if nothing else works for you, search for an updated driver directly using the adapter's name/model rather than through Windows Device Manager or the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.

    Good luck!
