CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED Win 10 boot up TMP 449

So I somehow, some way came across a nasty virus that infected my computer. My computer may fried at this point but I at least want to try and recover my files.

My PC keeps showing the blue screen of death with error code CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. System keeps attempting to reboot. I can’t reboot in safe mode, can’t reset my PC and I can’t restore from an earlier point.

Asking on other parts of the internet I was told that a bootable Windows 10 USB may be necessary to reset my PC to factory default and keep my files.

Should I attempt to make the bootable USB myself? Or should I get a bootable USB from Acer? I would also like to hear other suggestions as well.

Did you try the internal reset with Alt f10. yes you can get it from acer store or can use if you have created already.

Troubleshoot
Click Get started under Reset this PC.
Click Remove everything. ->just remove my files->Reset.

try alt f10 or altgr f10 during the startup of the computer it will take you to the above pages. that the internal recovery option.

I just tried and it doesn’t work. I can’t reset it at all. I get an error message that’s says there was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made.

Yeah, to recover your files will likely mean booting from a USB flash drive with the Windows install environment on it, so you can get into repair mode. Download Windows 10 from Microsoft and use either the Media Creation Tool from MS or Rufus to create a install flash drive. Go into the BIOS and disable Secure Boot and enable the F12 boot menu. Boot into the flash drive and navigate to the command prompt. Use copy, xcopy or robocopy to get the important files off, either to your flash drive or to another. Once you have everything important backed up you can go ahead with the Windows install. When you get to the screen where it asks which partition to install to use the tools and delete all the existing partitions. You can then do a clean install to the unallocated space and you should be good. Make sure Defender is running on the new install and getting updates regularly and you will hopefully not be hit with another virus.

Thanks. Yeah talking to other people it may not even be a virus I’m going to be using the Rufus method. I’ll everyone know how it all turns out. Thankfully I can access the WinRe but it’s not much help because I can’t boot anything.

“There Was a Problem Resetting Your PC”: Why It Occurs?

Windows 8 and 10 have a built-in feature ‘Reset This PC‘. This message mainly comes when you update your windows, but there are many reasons of its occurring which are mentioned below:-

You have a pre-installed version of Windows 8,10 on your PC.
In your system’s registry have corrupted and damaged files.
You have booted your PC by doing these steps: Troubleshoot -> Reset this PC -> Remove everything.
Your PC had already a hard reset before the system reset.
Compression enabled by the manufacturer while pre-installing the windows to reduce the disk space.
You had tried to create a USB recovery drive by using this feature “Create a recovery drive” in Windows 10.

These are the reasons for its occurrence. Now let’s fix this issue.

1. Reset Using Command Prompt

Microsoft recommends this method, and it is the default solution to this problem. Most of the users apply this method to fix this error. Follow the steps given below to do it:-

Open a separate Command Prompt, Just, click Start, type “command prompt“ in the Search box, right-click on Command Prompt.
Then hit the option Run as administrator. If it asks for the password, type the password, or click Allow.
Type or copy and paste the following command given below, and smash the Enter Button.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth (Ctrl+C then Ctrl+v)
When the process is done Reboot(restart) your PC, and Reset This PC Again.

1st way to fix the error of windows 10 resetting

Note: Make sure to open your Command Prompt in Administrator Mode, Otherwise Code will not work and it will show an error.

I thought I closed this post. Sorry about that. I already solved this issue like a month ago. The issue was that my OS crashed. I just uploaded a new one.
