Hi , I have an Acer Aspire 3 A315-53-30US and it won’t turn on. A week earlier it wouldn’t come on with the power button but would turn on if I held down any other key. If I let go the laptop would shut off in 3-5 seconds. Now it won’t turn on at all with any key. I’ve tried to put it on charge and the battery light is blue (indicating full charge) so I don’t think there is a battery issue...Please assist.

Try the below step and check if still dont turn on than it should be a hardware issue
power drain: Just check the back of the unit, you can find a pin hole , unplug the charger and turn off the unit. now put a paper clip in the small pin hole and press and hold it for 30 sec.

Seemed to be a case of hardware problem similar to my Dell laptop years ago. I ended up replacing the power button board ( the part that the power button is supposed to press on it) and then problem resolved.

Is there any flex evident in the keyboard? Maybe a bulging battery pushing up on it from below?

@billsey No, there’s no sign of a flex on the keyboard..

Looks like a faulty hardware. Is it under the warranty. Try with external monitor and see if its showing display.

    Hi Keeks27,

You are getting blue light indication it says unit is charging. Try to do,

    # Try to get the BIOS page.

    1. Turn OFF the unit.
    2. Press and hold the F2 key and turn on the unit.
    3. You will be in setup utility page.
    4. Once you got the screen release the F2 key.
    5. Tap on F9 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    6. Tap on F10 key and hit enter key without changing the option.
    7. Your unit will restart by itself.

Check this T/S and post the result.
