Yes. It's all windows 10's fault

How do you have the BIOS configured? By default it will not let you boot from a flash drive. You'll have to go in and change things before it will let you boot from anything other than the standard OS.

OK, so you have Secure Boot disabled, the F12 Boot Menu enabled and the USB drive is not showing as a boot option when you hit F12 to get into the boot menu? Can you do a directory of the flash drive for us?

the usb is read correctly. However, it seems to have trouble loading the distro kernel. I solved it by downgrading to bios 1.07. With version 1.08 I had the same problem. Also with version 1.07 I used the same usb that gave me problems with versions 1.08 and 1.09. I think there is something wrong with these versions of the bios

well, to prevent it from happening again, easiest way is to prevent automatic driver updates from 10, but this also means when acer update a driver for 10, it won't automatically be installed so they'll have to be done manually if needed, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it in my book. (Start - control panel - system and security - system - advanced system settings - device instalation settings (under hardware tab) - no - save changes).  As an aside, my swift is on 1.07 with linux, so shall not be updating anytime soon.

I wonder if now that you have the dual boot up and running if it will continue to work after a BIOS update. If so then the fix is to downgrade, install and upgrade so you get the latest security fixes.
