Added SSD to expansion bay, Linux will not fully boot.

Hello,

I added the second SSD (SATA) for Ubunutu, however I couldn't install Linux on it. So I removed the drive and connected the drive to USB, I was able to install Unbuntu and boot to the drive, but when I re-installed it in the expansion bay, Linux will not fully boot. Bad SATA cable? The BIOS does give many options but it does show the SSD.

Any help is appreciated.

Temporarily disconnect the original HDD0 drive to see if HDD1 will boot. Jack E/NJ

Hey JacKE, thank you for your suggestion.

I tried disconnecting the main nvme drive and still had issues booting to additional drive. I got tired of jerking with it, so I re-formatted the additional drive in Windows and set it up for File History. Partitioned 100GB on the main nvme drive and everything works great now.

OK. Thanks for reporting back. Some installers seem to have trouble with sdb in some machines. I've found that the Mint installations seem to have less trouble. You might want see how a seasoned Mint installer like Cinnamon 19.3 reacts to a second drive being available. Jack E/NJ
