My brand new VG270 monitor has arrived broken. How do I get it replaced asap?

First time I plugged it in, the screen is completely gone, just lines everywhere as if it's been bashed.
I raised a 'question' (#210209-003977) with ACER's website on Tuesday 9th, and I got an automatic response saying I'd hear back within 48 hours.  I've heard nothing since.  It was a birthday present for my 12 yr old son so I'd like this resolved asap.

    The only best way to replace it sooner is to talking to the store from where you bought and replace it.
    But if you want to wait until you want to hear from Acer yes you can wait. To contact Acer check the link below

    Thanks for the reply.  I bought it direct from ACER.  I guess I'll have to ring them up which I was hoping to avoid as these things usually take ages.
