Nitro Monitor ED270R

bought a Nitro EDO series ED270R monitor 5 days ago.  Last night it won't power on.  Tried different outlet - still no luck.  ACER is saying it is not covered by warranty and that I have to send back to have it repaired.  It will take 20 days minimal for them to repair.  Does this seem right?  It was brand new and worked for only 4 days.  Why won't they replace it?

    Try first with the vendor you bought it from, that usually much quicker than sending to Acer for repair.
