I tend to fix it but it didnt work. When i uninstall the mic and restart, it wont let me reinstall back. As you can see from here, this is the mic that im using, not muted . everything is ok , i should be able to talk and the green bar will rise and drop but it doesnt show that. My laptop brand is Acer Aspire 4740G

    Hi EthanPrinzy

When you say it wont let you reinstall back. what exactly you mean. try to uninstall all audio drivers and restart the unit. if you still have the issue. try to install them from acer site with sn number and find option.

after uninstall it , i restarted the laptop. But then the audio cannot be reinstall back, it always failed. I downloaded an audio driver from acer site and replace it but it gives me a warning that it needs operation requires interactive window station. I had no idea how to fix it and so i do system restore .

Dont worry looks like some conflict. its better to do a factory reset. it should solve the issue. just take the backup of your personal data and info before you do that.

    1. Navigate to Settings. ...
    2. Select "Update & security"
    3. Click Recovery in the left pane. ...
    4. Click Get started under Reset this PC.
    5. Click Remove everything. ->just remove my files->Reset.
    6.
    7. Image result for factory reset in win 10Image result for factory reset in win 10Image result for factory reset in win 10Image result for factory reset in win 10Image result for factory reset in win 10

Turn off the computer. Try f8 during startup of the unit. Go to recovery and reset

Since it's windows 7 we can't take risk in reset without disk.
