Does this mean my usb c port only supports 65w or can it be charged with a lower wattage from the usb c port.

Yes it supports. I use my Swift 314-42 with my external display through USB-C. And display charges my laptop with 60W power.

You can use but using the correct charger with exact W' is recommended.

Too low of wattage and the system won't charge, instead it will slow the discharge rate. Best is, as Christy suggested, the correct wattage, second best is higher wattage, last is lower. IIRC that port really wants 20V as well, so your best bet is a 20V 65W USB-C charger.

I spent a couple of weeks trying to find a definitive answer to the question of whether or not my Acer Swift 3 (SF314-42-R9YN) supports charging over USB-C.  Some in this community said they had tested it and said it worked, while others had difficulty with whatever chargers they tested.  The 45W charger available on the Acer site does not work, probably due to insufficient power output.  Using that, the charging indicator would switch on and off repeatedly.  Based on that and comments regarding wattage requirements on this and similar threads, I bought and tested the following combination of charger and cable and they work for me in the US:

    RavPower 65W 2-Port PD3.0 Charger
uni USB-C to USB-C 100W Fast Charging Cable with E-Marker Chip

I don't have any interest in either of those companies or with the linked seller (Amazon US).  I just had a hard time finding an answer that depended so much on the specifics of what charging hardware was being used.  I hope this helps the next person.

Yeah, I hate it when they don't tell you all the specs on their charger... It's 65W but you aren't always going to get 20V with chargers like those. I'm glad it worked but would much prefer they state in their specs which voltages they support.
