I have a aspire 7560 laptop.  The bios version on my laptop is 2.04. It came with this version.  When i go to the support page the bios version are from 1.03 to 1.07.  My usb ports are not working. How do I know if I have the correct version?

The 7560 was a factory-installed Win7 that may have been changed to Win8x at some point. To confirm the current BIOS version number, simplyfi press WIN+R. Then enter 'msinfo32'. In the right pane, look for the BIOS Version/date. What does it say? Jack E/NJ

It says 2.04 and support doesn’t give that option.   It has win 7 os.   Do I need to flash back to 1.07 or is 2.04 the correct bios(cmos)

You likely have a used laptop that a previous owner tried to install an incorrect BIOS version designed for another model. We can try correct this mistake by installing the latest correct BIOS version 1.07. But it requires editing some installation files and has a high risk of totally disabling the laptop. Do you still want to risk trying to correct this error? Jack E?NJ

version 2.04 is for a older similar laptop aspire 7535.  it also used version 1.07.  I don't know if going back to 1.07 is going to fix my left usb problem.  may have to update to win 10

You should ask whoever applied v2.04 exactly why it was done. Due to risks of serious side effects or bricking, BIOS changes generally should NOT be made if they do not address a disabling problem the laptop is having. Jack E/NJ
