My Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54-732V come with 16gb RAM(8+8).
May I upgrade to 24gb(8+16), 40gb(8+32) e/o 64 (32+32)?

    System memory
DDR4 2400/2666 SODIMM memory interface design:
    SODIMM DDR4 x 2 slot
The maximum memory is up to 32 GB.
Both the slot should be having the same amount of RAM to get better speed

Than you can try upgrading to 64GB, you can use it as you have mentioned above but its better to use the same size in both the slot to get better speed

Acer's spec says 32GB max. Crucial may be using the chipset spec instead or they might have actually tested with the higher amount... Sometimes they are wrong. To be safe go with two 16GB 2666 SO-DIMMs (not XMP), to flirt with having to return if it doesn't work try two 32GBs instead. As Jack says, a pair of matching sticks is faster than a single stick or mis-matched stick.
