Chromebook Spin 11 screen going black after update

I was on my chromebook as usual and the "Restart to Update" notification kept coming up all day but I was busy so put it off until the next day. During the evening, all of a sudden, my chromebook screen turned black and seemed to update itself without me doing it. Since then, every now and then when I move my chromebook, the screen will intermittently go black with the backlight still on and the power button on. I brushed over the keyboard and the backlight flashed but the screen remained black. The only way to get it back to normal is to hold the power button for about 10 seconds and turn it back on again. I've set the chromebook back to factory reset but that didn't seem to do anything. I turned my chromebook off and left it off for a few hours and that seemed to help and my screen hasn't really done it. As I write this now though, my screen turned black and I've had to turn my laptop off.

I messaged the place where I got my chromebook (Currys and PC world) and they told me to get in touch with Acer as I've only had if for less than 6 months. I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on what it could be or what to do because I can't really go a few days without my laptop as I need.

Yeah, your system is new enough that it's unlikely to be the cable that goes between the MB and the display. They sometimes start cracking wires when flexed after they get old enough.
