External speaker connects only as headphones E5-722G-83DD

When I Bluetooth my Monster external speaker, it connects but as headphones which it is not.  So the speaker won’t work.  I had another Asus computer and it connected with no problem.  How can I get this to work?

Hi -thanks for the guidance.  Unfortunately, when I go to that site, it won't recognise the serial number or the SNID # that I input.  I tried putting in the model - that doesn't work.

What is your full ACER model number? For example, A515-54??? Or E5-575G? Or AN5-542?? Or ES1-115??? Jack E/NJ

I tried both and none of them will let me in with either my serial no or no SNID - it says Sorry, an error occurred

Go to the elevated command prompt. Enter 'wmic bios get serialnumber'   Is the result the same SNID that you entered? Jack E/NJ

Something seems amiss. Have you tried to register the machine's SNID with ACER in any way either through the Canadian support websites mentioned earlier or snailmail or email or via phone? Did registration & warranty documentation come with the purchase? Jack E/NJ

To be honest, I can't remember if I registered it .....it is usually something I do.  Registration and warranty document?I always keep these but, of course, when I looked for this I can't find it.  It was registered through Staples with an extended warranty but that has expired.

Oh wow! That explains why the SNID doesn't work? But like you found, it certainly doesn't explain why no ACER driver updates seem to be accessible for both E5-722 & G models. Let me look into this and get back to you. Meanwhile try these freeware driver tools to see if any of them will pick up new on-line drivers that will help identify the speakers as speakers. I suggest DriverBooster first since most folks including me seem to have had good success with it. Jack E/NJ
